Don't miss our free weekly morning coffee and pancakes breakfast. Our evening gatherings around the fire pit, and monthly pot luck dinners! And there's always someone doing crafts of some kind, playing cards, doing puzzles and playing pool in our rec hall. We have a few organized activities for you, but we don't try to run your lives.
Located 50 miles south of Laredo and 98 miles north of McAllen, Zapata and the surrounding area are rich in Spanish-Mexican heritage and romantic history. Zapata offers modern medical facilities, ambulance service, law enforcement, fire protection, and a municipal airport. Shopping areas, restaurants, banks, health care, and golf are all within 3 miles of Sunset Villa. Come try the steaks - chicken-fried and regular - for which Zapata is famous!
Zapata has many recreational activities including excellent fishing and
watersports, bird watching, and rock hunting. Zapata is a paradise for birders; it's home
to the "White Collared Seedeater", a rare little bird found only in this part of
the United States. Many other native bird species also frequent the
county. Falcon Lake dam, about 30 miles south of Zapata, provides a free crossing point
into Mexico.
Rates are based on seasonal double occupancy and include
water, sewer, and garbage pickup. Electricity is included in daily & weekly rental
rates only.
